This research aims to analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning model in improving critical thinking skills in environmental pollution material for class This research uses a qualitative approach with interviews with sources followed by a literature review by collecting data from various previous research sources that are relevant to the research topic. Based on the results of the analysis regarding the use of the Problem Based Learning model, it can be shown that the use of the Problem Based Learning model as a learning model has a positive impact on students' critical thinking abilities, especially on environmental pollution material in Class X of Lubuk Pakam Methodist High School. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence on students' critical thinking abilities either by combining the use of media or other learning models.
abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengalisis penerapan model Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada materi penceramaran lingkungan kelas X SMA Metodist Lubuk Pakam, dimana model Problem Based Learning ini merupakan model berbasis permasalahan yang mampu meningkatkan cara berfikir kritis siswa . Pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara kepada narasumber dan diikuti dengan literatur review dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan dengan topik penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis mengenai penggunaan model Problem Based Learning ini dapat menunjukan bahwa pengunaan model pembelajaran Problem based learning sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang berdampak poitif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, terutama pada materi pencemaran lingkungan di Kelas X SMA Methodist Lubuk Pakam. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang segnifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik baik dengan kombinasi pengunaan media atau model pembelajaran lainnya.
