English in K-pop: An Analysis of English Fluency on K-pop Group NCT 127 Members

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kefasihan berbahasa Inggris pada anggota kpop grup NCT 127. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode analisis isi dari konten-konten youtube yang menampilkan anggota-anggota NCT 127 berbahasa Inggris. Untuk menganalisis kefasihan dari anggota NCT 127 digunakanlah software Praat. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa anggota seperti Johnny, Jaehyun dan Mark fasih dalam berbahasa Inggris sedangkan anggota seperti Taeyong, Yuta, dan Jungwoo belum bias dikatakan fasih dan anggota lain seperti Doyoung dan Haechan menunjukkan potensi untuk menjadi fasih.
Abstract
This research was conducted to analyse English fluency on K-pop group NCT 127’s members. This research is a qualitativeresearch using descriptive study method. Data was collected using content analysis method on Youtube’s contents which shows NCT 127’s members speaking English. The results of the study shown that member like Johnny, Jaehyun, and Mark is fluent in English while member like Taeyong, Yuta, and Jungwoo is less fluent and other member like Doyoung and Haechan shows the potential to be fluent.
