Visualisasi Perempuan Heroik dari Majapahit dalam Karya Seni Lukis Kontemporer

The Majapahit Kingdom represents a significant chapter in the history of the Nusantara and is considered a foundational precursor to the formation of Indonesia. This study centers on one of its prominent figures, the Maharani of Majapahit, Gayatri Rajapatni. Not many have recorded the history of the greatness of Majapahit in politics, culture, and art until it is conveyed to the young generation of Indonesia today. Presenting this in a more contemporary way and acceptable to the younger generation is a challenge in itself. This study aims to visualize the history of Majapahit into the visual language of contemporary painting so that it can touch the interests of the younger generation. This objective is pursued through a qualitative descriptive method combined with a visual language approach. The research sample consists of a sculpture originating from the Majapahit Kingdom. The result are presented as digital paintings that visually interpret and represent the historical narrative of Majapahit. So, the potential for color and visual tendencies will be more progressive and contemporary.
Abstrak
Kerajaan Majapahit merupakan sejarah kebesaran atas Nusantara yang menjadi cikal bakal berdirinya Indonesia. Fokus penelitian ini bertumpu pada Maharani Majapahit yaitu Gayatri Rajapatni. Belum banyak yang merekam sejarah kebesaran Majapahit baik dalam politik, budaya, dan seni hingga tersampaikan ke generasi muda Indonesia saat ini. Mempresentasikan hal tersebut dengan cara yang lebih kekinian dan dapat diterima generasi muda merupakan sebuah tantangan tersendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan sejarah Majapahit dalam aspek politik, budaya, dan seni ke dalam bahasa rupa lukisan kontemporer sehingga mampu menyentuh minat generasi muda. Tujuan tersebut dapat dicapai dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan bahasa rupa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah karya seni patung yang digagas dari kerajaan Majapahit. Hasil penelitian berupa karya seni lukis kontemporer yang merepresentasikan sejarah Kerajaan Majapahit dalam kajian politik, budaya, dan seni dalam bahasa visual kontemporer. Jadi, potensi akan kecenderungan warna dan visual akan lebih progresif dan kekinian.
