Inhibitor Korosi dari Ekstrak Daun Sambang Darah (Excoecaria cochinchinensis L.) pada Baja Lunak Dalam HCl

Studi inhibisi korosi pada baja lunak dalam medium HCl oleh ekstrak daun sambang darah (Excoecaria cochinchinensis L.) telah dilakukan dengan metoda kehilangan berat (weight loss), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), sudut kontak, dan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efisiensi inhibisi daun sambang darah (EDSD) sebagai inhibitor korosi dalam medium HCl. Efisiensi inhibisi ditemukan meningkat dengan peningkatan konsentrasi EDSD dan menurun dengan meningkatnya suhu. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa EDSD mampu menginhibisi korosi baja lunak dengan efisiensi inhibisi sebesar 87,972% pada EDSD 8 g/L dalam larutan HCl 1 M. Adsorpsi EDSD pada permukaan baja lunak mengikuti isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir. Analisis FTIR menunjukkan adanya interaksi antara EDSD dengan permukaan baja lunak. Sudut kontak memperlihatkan permukaan baja lunak bersifat hidrofobik dengan adanya EDSD. Analisis SEM memperlihatkan adanya perubahan permukaan baja lunak yang direndam dalam medium HCl 1 M tanpa dan dengan penambahan EDSD.
